Cottage in the Wood

The Power of Nature with Clare Knivett at The Cottage in the Wood Malvern

The Cottage in the Wood Malvern is not really a cottage in the wood, but a hotel on the hill – located in a dramatic landscape filled with dense woods, sprawling hills and sweeping views of the Severn Valley. Perfectly located for those looking to reconnect with the natural world, the hotel has teamed up with food writer, cook and forager Clare Knivett to offer her exclusive Power of Nature experience in the surrounding landscape.

Reconnect with the natural world

Taking techniques from Japanese forest bathing and combining them with plant identification and seasonal foraging, the two-hour experience amongst the trees is about breathing in the natural surroundings, learning the benefits of spending more time in nature and identifying wild plants, fruits, flowers and trees.

Clare covers grounding, breathing and relaxation techniques and an introduction to forest bathing, as well as seasonal wild plant identification, focusing on which plants can harm or heal, with tips on how to use wild plants for food, health and beauty, as well as cooking. The experience is followed up with recipes, book recommendations and tips tailored to individual interests.
