Our hotel on the hill offers 32 unique and stylish bedrooms, all individually designed with little touches that reinvigorate the senses to promote deep, natural sleep.
Two self-contained guest houses set a little apart from the hotel, on their own ground among the trees: The Chapel and The Studio. Room to spread out, entirely your own, for a family, a gathering of friends, or a couple who simply like more space.
Breakfast is a proper event here. Served in The Brasserie: a light-filled room of floor-to-ceiling windows, with the thirty-mile view across the valley at every table.
A drink in hand, the valley in front of you, and no hurry at all. Whether it's a morning coffee, a cocktail at the twilight hour, or a long lunch in the open air, the bar and terrace are where The Cottage in the Wood slows right down.
Afternoon tea is where this whole house began. The Cottage in the Wood opened as tea rooms in 1919, and we have been laying the three-tiered stand ever since.
Step off the Malvern trails, slow down with someone over a long table, or escape the office for a team lunch, to impress a client, or simply to think more clearly away from the desk.
At The Cottage in the Wood, private dining and events come with thirty-mile views across the valley, stylish and characterful interiors and a kitchen and team who take care of every detail.
The Forest Spa is set directly into the Malvern hillside. It is cradled in nine acres of woodland with grass underfoot, while the moss-covered hills rise creating the living wall of the spa garden.
Treatments by our own therapists, in a rustic spa set into the hillside among the woods. Each one is tailored to you — an hour to slow down, in the valley where the British wellness retreat began.
Set high above Malvern in eight acres of woodland, The Cottage in the Wood Malvern offers a desirable mix of laid-back elegance, incredible food and intuitive service in a naturally dramatic space.
Some places you have to seek out. The Malverns are one of them: an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that rises, quite suddenly, from the flat of the Severn Valley: nine miles of ridge, endless walking, springs and gas lamps, and pretty towns tucked into the folds of the hills.

Set in nine acres of woodland on the hills where the British wellness retreat was born, looking thirty miles across the Severn Valley to the Cotswolds. A relaxed kitchen rooted in the Vale of Evesham, nine miles of ridge from the door, and The Forest Spa: the only spa in the Malvern Hills themselves.
Thirty-two rooms across the Main House, Beech Cottage and the Coach House, each shaped by the view it wakes to. Walk from the door onto the ridge; return to deep baths, deeper beds and an exceptional dinner waiting. Every morning and evening, The Forest Spa belongs to residents alone.
One kitchen, one easy room. Rooted in the Vale of Evesham, The Brasserie serves modern British cooking all day and into the evening.
The Brasserie
It is an elegant and easy space with floor-to-ceiling windows that spill onto the terrace when the weather is warm. Framed by sweeping views of the valley meeting the Cotswolds, it perfectly captures the spirit of the entire retreat, where nothing is asked of you but to sit back, drink in the landscape, and stay a while.
Cradled in nine acres of woodland, The Forest Spa is a natural place where wood and water meet stone and moss, all surrounded by healing woodland hills. These same hills drew Florence Nightingale, Charles Dickens and Charles Darwin to take the celebrated Malvern Water Cure, the birthplace of the British wellness retreat; here, nature was always the cure.
A hot tub with a thirty-mile view, a traditional sauna, the cold plunge the Victorians swore by, and treatments from our own therapists. Come back to nature, and to yourself.

We stayed for 3 nights and had a marvellous experience. The food is creative and delicious without being over-complex or pretentious. The staff are friendly and professional and the atmosphere relaxed. One unusual feature is that kitchen staff bring you dishes that they have prepared, and explain them. 🥰
A wonderful trip to Malvern
Exceptional location, and views. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Beautiful grounds and facilities, very peaceful and relaxing. High-end dining and excellent wait staff serving delicious, fine-dining standard food. Cocktails were also superb. This would be a very nice place for couples to dine and stay. ☺️ It's quite a romantic setting. Beautiful setting and location, with stunning views. Lovely staff and clean, comfortable room.
