Cottage in the Wood

We are really looking forward to welcoming you to The Cottage in the Wood. We wanted to reassure you that we are following the government guidance put in place to keep everyone visiting hospitality venues safe. As well as following the guidance, there are also some simple ways you can help us to keep you, other guests and The Cottage team safe. Rest assured we will be doing everything to ensure you enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay with us.

We are able to accommodate 1 metre plus social distancing throughout the hotel, especially in the restaurant, bar and reception areas – We are lucky to have plenty of space and fresh air here so this is easy for us to achieve without affecting your experience at the hotel.

There is a one way system at the hotel, but don’t worry, where this is in place it will be clearly signposted and marked out will and really easy for you to follow.

Hand sanitizing stations are dotted around the hotel for staff and customers to help keep you safe.

Guests are asked to wear a face covering when at reception, as advised by the government. You do not have to wear a mask in the bar or restaurant, but if you would like to, you are more than welcome.

We will be providing table service throughout the restaurant, terrace and bar areas so you can just sit back and relax whilst we bring you everything you need. We are not serving drinks across the bar at the moment.

Breakfast will be a little different, as we are unable to offer our buffet table, but rest assured that we will bring those items out to you, and our kitchen team will be serving the same delicious a la carte breakfast that our guests love.

To help with social distancing, we are also booking people in for breakfast at check-in, with only a certain number of people arriving at the same time. If you would like to book your table for breakfast before your arrival please give us a call on 01684 588860 or click on the ‘book a table button’ at the top of this page.

Where possible, we are trying to reduce the amount of cash handled, so we are asking guests to either pay using contactless cards, or to simply add things to their room bill and pay by card at checkout.

Our wonderful housekeeping team have increased their cleaning routines to make sure your room is extra clean for you. Having brand new rooms throughout the hotel makes it even easier for us to do this.

If you would rather our housekeeping team don’t enter your room during your stay, just leave the do not disturb sign on your door and we’ll leave top ups of tea/coffee etc outside your room.

We are sure that you will enjoy your stay with us. If you have any questions about this before or during your stay, please let us know and our lovely team will be happy to help.
