Step straight from the trails into something warm, comforting, and unmistakably festive. From 1st December to 5th January, The Brasserie invites walkers, wanderers and winter ramblers to settle in for our new Après Walk Lunch Menu, served 12pm–6pm daily.
Inspired by the charm of Après ski culture, minus the skis, but very much still up in the hills, this seasonal offering brings together the comfort and the simple joy of warming up after a walk. Here at The Cottage in the Wood, the forest paths and ridge-line views become our mountain slopes; the relaxed buzz of the Brasserie your “Après” retreat.
Our limited-season menu celebrates simple, heartening food done well. Enjoy the Soup of the Day, perfect after a crisp woodland walk. Choose from a selection of sourdough sandwiches, including a classic B.L.T. or a melty Croque Monsieur. For something sweet, treat yourself to warm mince pies,home-baked scones, or a rich chocolate brownie, each paired with your choice of loose-leaf tea, barista coffee, or hot chocolate. And in true Après style, there’s the option to go a little tipsy with a Hot Toddy, Mulled Wine, or an Aperol Spritz.
Whether you’ve conquered the trails or simply strolled the grounds, warm up, refuel, and enjoy the easy-going joy of winter togetherness in the Brasserie.
