Now that October is upon us, we are ready for Autumn in the Malvern Hills here at Cottage in the Wood. To kick things off this year, we’ve put together the top 7 reasons that we love autumn.

Watching the seasons change around us from our wonderful terrace! The combination of the stunning view and outdoor heating, makes it the perfect setting to settle down with a warm coffee and take in the beautiful orange and red colours amongst the scenery looking out over the Severn Valley.

The deep blue bookcases and Georgian green walls of 1919 bar are the perfect place to enjoy a delightful cocktail or a fine wine in warm and cosy surroundings.

Lovely long warm lay-ins in bed! The peace and tranquility of the surrounding Malvern Hills promises the perfect night of undisturbed sleep. We never complain about the early morning sun creeping in the windows in the Summer, but with October being the start of hibernation season, we always look forward to a lovely long lie in followed by a hot cup of tea in bed.

Delicious warming Autumn dishes and fresh ingredients. In 1919 Restaurant, we change our menus seasonally to reflect the freshest in season produce and flavours. We can’t wait to celebrate this year’s harvest with mouth-watering dishes fresh from our kitchen.

Beautiful nature and Autumnal colours! We love the bright colours of Summer, but when the season turns and we start seeing the beautiful amber and red colours of Autumn, we love venturing out onto the hills to take in the changing scenery.

Warming up in a beautiful roll top bath! We couldn’t leave this one out. After a sunny and brisk day out exploring the local area, we don’t think that there’s anything better than coming home to relax in a warm, bubbly, roll top bath before heading to 1919 Restaurant and Bar for dinner.
