Lovell’s is a family run Vineyard on nine-acres of south-facing land in the village of Welland, a short drive / taxi-ride from the hotel.
The personal guided tour of the vineyard is delivered by the owners themselves offering a unique experience of learning about and tasting award winning and hugely popular English wines.
Learn about the history of English wines, how vines are selected for the climate and grown in England. Get an insight into the English wine scene by exploring the culture of English wines and how they are perceived in the UK and abroad.

The best time of year for a vineyard tour is from May to November when the vines are putting their energy into producing the wonderful grapes for the wines.

Brewery visiting & beer tasting can be arranged at the Friday Beer Brewery
The Friday Beer Co is based in Malvern and has been producing a range of premium bottled ales since 2011. The bottles are available at the bar of The Cottage in Wood Hotel for you to enjoy.
If you would like to visit the Brewery and see how the beer is produced the owners and beer scientists would be pleased to meet you. They will ensure that you get to sample the full range of beers and learn about the process of making beer and the history of The Friday Beer Co.
Visitors of any age are welcome although we can only give samples or sell bottles to those of you who are over 18 years of age. Accessible facilities available.
Horse riding (7 miles)
Experience the joys of horse-riding whether you are an experienced rider looking for an adventure or a beginner wanting to try it. Local riding experiences offer riding in their outdoor arena and hacking out.
The arena offers a safe environment to learn to ride and have fun with the horses through playful games. Riding further afield and going for a hack across the beautiful surrounding countryside is not only a bit more adventurous but also allows you to take in the sights and peaceful sounds of nature. You could always take part in both!
Hot Air Ballooning (Worcestershire)

Get a truly unique perspective of The Malvern Hills and surrounding area of outstanding natural beauty, villages, towns and roaming countryside. The Malvern Hill paths vary from reasonably well drained and level tarmac paths to rough, rocky and quite steep paths. You’ll need to be confident in your brakes and experience for the latter. There can be a lot of walkers, from families with toddlers to serious ramblers, so please be considerate. The southern end of the hills generally has fewer people around, but also less tracks.
Around the Hills themselves a network of country lanes pass through a variety of different landscapes from steep wooded hills to gently rolling farmland. Choose your route to take you through the local villages and towns and explore the culture, history and culinary delights on your way.
Land rover experience centre (6.5 miles)
Spread over 5000 acres in the dramatic setting of the Malvern Hills, Land Rover Experience Eastnor is a charming location with a plethora of diverse terrain. The 43 miles of affectionately named track set within the grounds of the enchanting Eastnor Castle, present spectacular views, picturesque woodlands and an impressive array of wildlife including Buzzards, Red Kites and Muntjac Deer.
Bidford gliding & Flying Club (28 miles)
Fly with a qualified Introductory Flight Pilot and experience the joy of silent gliding flight.
You will take off from Bidford Airfield, and as you climb higher you will be able to take in the wonderful views of the Cotswold Hills. You’ll see the river Avon weaving its way beneath you past the town of Bidford and on to Evesham. On clear days you can even see the River Severn estuary away in the distance.
If you want, take a Trial Lesson and your qualified instructor will demonstrate the controls and give you the opportunity to fly the glider yourself.
